The Challenge
The client was developing a new therapy for the treatment of a gastrointestinal indication with a high level of unmet needs and limited payer awareness

A comprehensive set of payer value communication resources was required to support payer awareness/education regarding the unmet needs for the condition, and clearly articulate the clinical, economic, humanistic (QoL) and safety benefits for a new treatment to support formulary access and priority positioning
Project objectives
Development of a payer value slide deck to support payer interactions and drive formulary access and positioning across key EU markets

Develop a user-friendly budget impact model for use in field-based value communication with payers and to inform the relevant budget impact sections within EU HTA dossiers

Validation of the payer value communication deck and economic analysis with a representative sample of payers

Updating the global value dossier and core claims document with the updated economic framework and value messages
Workshop with the client team to draft the value messages and select supporting data

Development of a draft payer value slide deck and customisable budget impact model (including UK data as the base case)

Testing of the value messages, supporting evidence and assumptions/outputs for the budget impact model with key payers

Finalisation of the value communication resources/user guidance based on payer feedback and rollout to the company

Development of the HTA dossier chapter including the final budget impact analysis
Development of a comprehensive suite of payer value communication resources for the European market (including finalised value messages, payer value slide deck, budget impact model and user guidance documents)

Rollout of the resources to the wider company team (including guidance on customisation of the payer value deck based on payer objectives, and adaptation of the economic model based on the local health economy)
