We are looking for a dynamic and highly driven individual to join our expanding market access team as an Associate Director. This is an ideal position for someone looking to move into a leadership position, taking the lead on complex market access challenges for clients in addition to supporting and nurturing talent within the team.
Key skills must include a strong background in executing and independently delivering directorship across complex market access projects alongside being an active leader within the consulting group, supporting the continuous development of the consulting team and assisting the Director of Market Access. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines in addition to being a collaborative and positive leader. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape client delivery, team development and company direction.
About the Role
The Associate Director will provide an active role in the leadership and delivery of projects, being able to work independently across multiple market access projects without senior manager assistance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of direct line reports, supporting to develop and manage consultants/senior consultants into efficient client facing project leads, in collaboration with the Director of Market Access. The role also entails strategic support to the Director of Market Access through input into strategic planning activities and the recruitment of new team members
The role will also incorporate business development activities with new and existing clients, including communication of the Lightning Health value proposition and capabilities, and leading the development of proposals/services for addressing client requirements.
Key responsibilities
Overall support with project directorship, solution creation and deliverables review in areas of :
- Market access strategy
- Pricing and reimbursement
- Commercial due diligence
- Opportunity evaluation
- Health economics
Team delivery and support
- Active responsibility for direct reports, enabling team growth and learning in close partnership with the Director of Market Access
- Promote Lightning Health’s company values across all team members, championing our way of working with line reports and the junior team
- Take an active role in shaping and delivering the training curriculum to the consultancy team
- Input into strategic planning activities, recruitment and process development, supporting the Director of Market Access
- Be an internal thought leader and internal expert for the Lightning Health consulting team
Pipeline growth and business development
- Take responsibility for understanding, shaping and meeting client objective(s) from first point of contact with the company (including opportunity scoping/RFPs, with minimal support)
- Maintain and expand client relationships (with direct responsibility for key accounts)
- Achieve business development objectives (as agreed with the management team)
- Develop a strong understanding of Lightning Health’s value proposition and actively communicate this with both clients and internal teams, including representing the company at relevant congresses
- Input to ongoing planning for skills/service development to meet client requirements
Skills and qualifications
- 7+years of global market access experience ideally (with prior experience in global market access consultancy)
- Track record of independent delivery of pricing and market access projects within the pharmaceutical/MedTech industry
- Excellent client relationship management, with prior experience with the growth and management of key accounts
- Ability to independently lead solution creation and proposal development
- Ability to lead external discussions/presentations (such as advisory board moderation and congress activities)
- Able to harness cutting edge thinking regarding the global market access landscape into thought leadership materials and client engagements
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
